Legal Assistant

We have had great success with apprentices over the last few years and many have progressed in the business following successful completion of their apprenticeship.

The day-to-day duties involved in the administration role will include:

  • Answering incoming calls and directing them appropriately

  • Dealing with routine enquiries, providing updates, quotes, and general information to clients and third parties

  • Greeting clients and fulfilling general reception and front of house role

  • Preparing standard letters, documents and invoices

  • Managing incoming and outgoing post

  • Filing, photocopying and scanning

  • Updating and operating the firm’s case management system

  • Supporting the fee earners in the office to ensure the smooth running of the firm

  • Preparing legal documents

  • Communicating with other solicitors, the Land Registry, HMRC and the Courts.

The office is a small, friendly and busy work environment.  We are looking for someone personable with attention to detail and a good sense of humour.


The role, at its very core, is a reception and administration role, however because we are a small firm, for the right candidate we will provide the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, develop the role and obtain work experience of many other aspects of work within a law firm.

  • Excellent telephone handling and customer service skills

  • Good organisational skills

  • Must pay attention to detail, work accurately in a methodical manner with an ability to work within specified guidelines

  • Proficient in using a computer (confident with the Internet, Excel, Word and Outlook)

  • Discretion with information and highly sensitive details


Personal qualities

  • A keen, friendly, personable attitude

  • Articulate and a good communicator both verbally and written

  • Desired qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent Grades C or above in maths and English

Working week Monday - Friday 9am-4pm

Apprenticeship duration 12-18 months

Apprenticeship level: 2 or 3
